Add a Commenthonestly, i'm having a hard time finding the right words to express how much i adored this novel. i LOVED the timeless love story between neil & caroline...simply beautiful & so heart-warming! 'the last valentine' is by far one of the best romances i've come across...i found myself thinking about neil, caroline & their love story well after i was finished reading. ...so, so, SO good!
This is simply VERY MOVING wartime love story. Grab a box of kleenex and prepare to be amazed and swept off your feet!
Neil and Caroline were married on February 14, 1945. Just in time for Neil to get shipped out for duty. One of the things he took with him was a Valentine card his wife gave him. After his plane goes down in the Pacific, and he is declared missing, he comes to cherish this card. And then he begins to alter it making it his declaration of love for a wife he may never see again. The parallel story involves a young woman who doesn?t believe in love anymore and the son of Neil and Caroline. What happens to the parents and how Neil Sr.?s Valentine becomes the important piece in this story will reveal a love story that is hard to forget. Keep the hankies close!
