Comment
Add a CommentThis book has had far too much fanfare for something of this quality. The idea of graphics and the writing style is decent enough, but the character is plain unlikeable. I will not be reading further stories about a character who cannot learn from his mistakes and is a total jerk to those around him. There is nothing very redeemable in the plot.

An every-guy, Greg Heffley, is trying to survive his first year in middle school as told in diary format. Or as Greg would immediately correct, 'This is a JOURNAL, not a diary.' Join Greg and his friend Rowley as they both try to make sense of this new frontier of teenagerdom. This story, composed in both words and cartoons, is as beautiful as it is simple. Instead of chapters there are days of the week that subdivide the action which never lingers. It's a quick read full of experiences that anyone who's attended middle school in the last fifty can relate to. Oh yeah, it's also laugh-out-loud funny!
I love this book!!! It is really easy to read and a good book for all ages. I mostly liked the part about the cheese touch and the moldy cheese part thingy. I kinda feel bad for Greg,I mean like he always gets tricked by his older brother and that he gets creeped out/annoyed by Fregly. Middle school seems like a scary place to be,I mean I would not like to be in a school with kids like me and a bunch of gorillas all scrambled together. I feel that Greg over reacts a lot and I think he will never become famous. And Rowley I think is still in his little kid stage. Last but not least, Fregly. Well lets just say.......he really freaks me out. Over all really good book. Love it. =D
