Summaries
Add a SummaryArtemis Fowl is a really good book because there is no antagonist, there is only two competing protagonists. One of the protagonist is more of a group called the LEP. Artemis Fowl is the other protagonist. His goal is to get fairy money from the LEP, the fairy police, by giving them a ransom note because he had kidnapped one of their officers.
Artemis Fowl is one of the greatest criminal minds the world has ever seen-and he’s only 12 yrs old! Thanks to his superior hacking abilities, Artemis discovers the existence of “The People”-otherwise know as faeries, trolls and leprechauns. He learns that if he can find a copy of “the Book” he will have access to their vast treasure of gold. With his skilful sidekick Butler at his side, Artemis quickly locates and decodes The Book’s secrets-making him the first person in history to do so. What he doesn’t know is that he is now being hunted down by the LEPrecon’s finest Fairy commando-Holly Short. If you like your fantasy fast and funny with a healthy dose of originality check this out.
Notices
Add a NoticeOther: some intense crude humor. Parts of it I don't mind, but others.... it would be way better without that stuff.
Coarse Language: just a little bit of swearing, and some of it is in the language of the fairies.
Quotes
Add a QuoteThe story began several years ago at the dawn of the twenty-first century. Artemis had devised a plan to restore his family’s fortune. A plan that could topple civilizations and plunge the world into a cross-species war. He was only twelve years old at the time..

Add a CommentPicked this up for cheap a while ago at the public library, as I was curious about all the media attention the book was getting. It was a huge disappointment, there were so many great ideas waiting to be properly unfolded and this didnt happen. I was constatnly wondering whether this book was edited professionally or not. It would be hugely improved if it was edited.
This Book is AMAZING! I love it. I am going to read it many many times.
A good book i like it
Oh, wow, I never thought I'd like these books. I'd seen my brother reading them, and my best friend raved nonstop about them, but I just didn't feel like I'd like them. Boy was I wrong. I LOVE the way Artemis plans and plots through things. It reminds me of a young Sherlock Holmes book, only with fairies thrown in too. Holly and Artemis might be my favorites, but I like Foaly too. He's awesome. Of course, all centaurs are awesome. :)
This series SUCKS!!!!!.
Really good book! Not much of a plot line, but it's the first book. Artemis is amazing! For some reason, he reminds me of Nathaniel in The Bartimaeus Trilogy. My one complaint is Juliet. Fist she comes off as some tough, wrestler-type girl, then a girly girl, than a girl with lots of boyfriends, motherly for one moment and at the very end innocent of everything and stupid. Um, okay. She knew tthat Artemis was kidnapping Holly Short. She was NOT innocent of that! She also has a brain; she could have done somthing LOTS of times.
Best. Series. Ever. Do yourself a favor and pick this up. Artemis Fowl is the best! Too bad he becomes nicer at the end... (not sure if I'm joking or not) He was cooler when he was more evil. Evil psychotic criminal masterminds forever!!! mwahahahahaha!!!!
Kids smarter than Mozart at the age of 12 - don't skip these series, people!
AMAZING and Eion Colfer makes even better AF
A unique, clever book that tells you the story from the villain’s point of view. Antihero Artemis is one of my favourite main characters and I would recommend at least giving this book a try.
