Wonder is a great story, and I am now beginning 5th grade, so I am sort of going the same way as August, so I know what to expect. I like books like this because they change perspectives, and thanks to this I am now writing a book with the differents perspectives of the characters. I give this book 5 stars. (Ines)
Easy to read. Great book for young adults. Nice message, but not believable to me in the real world
I'm not sure I have the words to convey how wonderful this book is. Auggie Pullman, a soon to be 5th grader, finds out he will be going to a regular school for the first time after having been home schooled all of his life. This should not be too big of a deal, but Auggie has a sever facial deformity and sending him to school feels like, in the words of his father, "sending a sheep to the wolves". Everyone knows that Auggie will struggle with finding acceptance from his classmates-but they also know he has to learn how to live in a world that will always see him as different. The book chronicles Auggie's fifth grade year, in his voice as well as in the voices of his sister, classmates, and family friends. As the reader sees his extraordinary story unfold. there are acts of cruelty, tremendous acts of compassion and remarkable classmates and teachers that expand Auggie's world tremendously. The book demonstrates the power of kindness in such a powerful way that I could not stop thinking about it for days afterword. Everyone needs to read this book. And then everyone needs to practice the kind of kindness that makes a difference in the life of Auggie Pullman.
It takes great courage and determination to choose kindness above all else, but when we do, we can discover that there is a unique 'wonder' inside of everyone just wanting to come out.
I really love this book. And it has movie too. I watched movie of wonder like 3 times!
Wonder is such an inspirational book! The characters all have different personalities and characteristics, and August is such a unique character. He went through a lot when he was little his face was affected by this disease called dibulo facial dysostosis which made his face all weird. But no matter how bad your face is messed up it doesn't change who you are as a human being.
Both of my boys(10 & 13 y.o.) read the book, they really enjoyed it! Also read the other one, Auggie and me. Wonderful, inspirational books!
Wonder is a book about kindness. It not only tells of Auggie's struggles entering 5th grade but those of his sister, Via & her best friend as they both try to "fit in" at high school. Auggie's friend Jack struggles with making decisions about friendship or going along with the crowd. "When given the choice between being right or being kind choose kind," is my favorite quote from this book.
It's a pretty amazing book for all ages! It brings the important discussion about bullying and how we can deal with the differences. Also, it's very helpful to learn English because has many dialogues and vocabularies. For ESL learners It's always a good deal! Inspirational book!
A nicely paced story, that inspires the reader to see with their heart what the eyes cannot see.
It has a lot of detail! It's very calm, relaxing and exciting. The story also has a great theme. You should read Wonder very soon! - Kaylee, age 11
I love it because it is a good book. It shows the views of different people. - Ayana R., age 8
I really like how Auggie was brave and how Amos, Miles and Henry stood up for Auggie. - Maya Q., age 10
this book is so good!!!!
it makes you feel so many different feelings and makes you never want to put down the book.
if you can i would for sure read the book and watch the movie.
If you want tears, frustration at stupidness, meanness, and just how can people be heartless, but at the same time think, "Yeah, I kind of do that sometimes, but I don't mean to!" (we are all human beings) or think what can I do when I am just one person. Read this book as it shows that although it is hard to be kind and you are just trying to survive in this world, this book shows that you don't have to try to hard when all you have to do is be kind (even just a little as it can go a long way), have empathy, be compassionate, and most of all have wonder at what you can and others can do when you are kind to each other.
Well written; I enjoyed the way the author provided a unique perspective for each of the major characters in this novel.
it's as wonderful as everyone says. My only quibble is that the sections from different characters have different information, but not that much in the way of distinct voices.
Amazing book to read. Heartwarming and has a strong message in it. Recommend it a lot
Awesome book, I definitely recommend it... teaches you a lot about inclusiveness.
WOW,sad, and entertaining. It is a kind of sad/happy story about a boy with a dis formed face.
A really great book for all young kids to read or have read to them. Kindness is such a strong force that we need more of in this world. I loved how the book puts the reader into the heads of different characters. I think it helps the reader to develop empathy and see the same situation through different lenses. A very good wholesome book.
Ce livre est un des meilleurs livres que j'ai jamais lu!! Il est d'une certaine facon tellement emouvant que j'ai failli pleurer!! Je vous recommande ce livre!!
This book was good I really liked how in the book they said how other people felt I give it 4 stars and a half
This is a children's book but should be required reading for all adults. Maybe before you get you tax return, you have to submit a book report on Wonder and a list of all the kinds acts you have accomplished in the past year.
This is a great book, I read it for the first time in fifth grade and I've read it multiple times since then. The book overall is amazing and I would highly recommend it to anyone who was looking at it
