I love Patterson, but Red is easily the worst of all Patterson's series and this is the worst book in the series. Gotta wonder if he even writes these anymore.
This was a quick and easy read. Kylie and Zach we’re handling a number of different cases in this most recent novel in the “Red” series. Not a lot of suspense.
I enjoy the friction and the sassiness of the 'NYPD Red' characters and they are present large in 'Red Alert'. The plots are interesting with some personal misdirection. I appreciate that, like Linda Fairstein, Patterson and Karp give us interesting details about NYC. Of course, no one does it as well or as in depth like Linda Fairstein. As with most Patterson books, it's an engaging yet very fast read.
4 Stars, solid mid-B
Zach Jordan and Kylie MacDonald have to stop the murders. They have their work cut out for them. This is another very good book by James Patterson. It held my attention from beginning to the end.
I thought this book was great. I liked how the detectives went on to solve the cases that they had. I would have never guessed that certain crimes had two aspects to them; meaning that there are several criminals tied to it in different ways. But the ending I found disappointing since they didn't find him. I won't reveal too much, but I was expecting all of the criminals to be caught. Guess someone got his revenge and got away with it. Another thing I liked was that the characters were very human. I could feel their emotions. Zach is a good detective and a good person I found. Also, there is a tonne of sexiness in this book. If I could call a book R rated, this would be it. It made it very interesting.
Good book with nice story line, strong characters and a few twist and turns for good measure.
Enjoyed this book!
RED ALERT is another super read by James Patterson and Marshall Kapp. Non-stop action and multiple story lines, all of which are engaging and well developed. Great book! That said, I have to say that I hate the core idea of the NYPD Red series (though I will keep reading them as they are too entertaining to skip) - a unit of high achieving cops who exist to cater to the needs of high wealth folks, and who have the elected politicians of NY pressuring them constantly to drop more important investigative lines to cater to the whims of spoiled and self-focused rich people. And the cops having to going along with the pressure.
Yet another fast-paced, action-packed thriller by James Patterson.
This fifth book in the NYPD Red series is pure entertainment. The story line is edgy....I'm old but even I learned some things about life on the edge! The integrated story lines are sure to keep you reading. How does Patterson do it? Have you seen all of the books this guy has written?
