I almost returned the book to the library after reading the first few chapters. But, other reviews inspired me to plug on skipping the cyber-bog in the middle. The ending was marred by a tedious political rant. The rest of the book was interesting and intriguing. It captured the warts of today's political climate brilliantly.

I liked THE PRESIDENT IS MISSING a lot. Very creative plot, interesting glimpses into the workings of the White House, and enough scary speculations about where the world is going to make a person think. I suspect that Patterson did all the writing and Clinton contributed the details related to how Presidents work - at least up to the point where the fictional president in the book goes off on his own. I do think the general observations along the way about partisanship, divisiveness, and incivility are right on in terms of their negative impact on how we as a Nation solve the major problems we face. I think the speculative look into cyber-vulnerability are deeply troubling problems that we can't prevent in the current climate in Washington, and we certainly couldn't do much to solve them once it hits the fan. I enjoy these kind of 'thrillers' just for the entertainment. But I really like it when they make me think. This one served both purposes well for me. Scared the hell out of me at times, frankly.

Very disappointed, a long, sometimes terribly boring read. The only input Clinton gave was his name and picture. I would say that is one of the worst of Patterson's otherwise great books.

This was great for 1st novel and good selection for a collaborative project, and maybe too much description on some areas, but J. P. should have given more attention there. And you would be surprised how many people, right out school, have little idea of the governmental affairs and the rules that guide each level and the work done by each title of staff!💝!

Not a bad thriller but did drag some. A good read for Patterson fans. I was expecting a little more suspense and less computer jargon.

Actually surprised that it was better than I expected. A bit repetitive here and there but a decent story line

Is this book by that guy who, when he was president, was a prime dolphin killer, as he ended the effective tuna boycott, citing the WTO as his legal precedent?
The same Bill Clinton who signed ALL that legislation which set up the global economic meltdown [REIT Modernization Act, 1996 Telecommunications Act, the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Financial Services Modernization Act, the Commodity Futures Modernization Act]?
The same Bill Clinton whose first action upon being elected president was to direct the SEC to drop the requirement listing the major investors investing through Wall Street firms, which effectively hides the ownership of America? [Guess it was payback to the Blackstone Group {Peterson/Rockefeller} for providing free office space for his presidential campaign, as well as donations?]

I agree, definitely not the best Patterson book I have read. I was 100 pages in and the book just wasn't saying anything. Now about 1/2 way in and getting a bit more interesting, but it really seems to drag. Was hoping for a lot more intrigue.

There was way too much computer jargon, that at times was hard to follow. I don't believe that either of the writers were as versed in the computer jargon as they would want you to believe. Unfortunately I don't believe they gave credit to the person that provided the with that information. Interesting plot though with a twist at the end.

Not the best book I've read but not the worst. Plot was good I thought, for a political novel.
My policy never discuss politics or religion, these are personal.

A ghost writer would have helped. There were times when you could tell - Bill Clinton wrote this. Patterson wrote this. The plot - not so much that the president is missing. More how will the situation be resolved. Did like the female assassin.

Keep politics out of reviews.
