This 1984 film adaptation and thriller film is based on the novel by Stephen King by the same name, and stars Linda Hamilton, John Franklin, Peter Horton, and Courtney Gains. The movie is about a physician and his girlfriend who are driving between towns when they find a murdered boy in the middle of the road. They try to contact the police, when they realize that they are nearby a town that is full of children who follow a strange cult leader. Before they know it, the two must do their best to avoid being sacrificed. This movie definitely had it’s scary moments and did a pretty good job at following along with the original story. I didn’t like the way that some scenes were interpreted, but overall, I feel like this movie is a pretty classic horror film. I would rate it 4/5 stars. @The_Reviewer of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board

Great creepy King story that came over wonderfully as a film. Many have attempted the same, or very similar story lines, but nothing beats the original. John Franklin's portrayal of Issac was absolutely brilliant!

Truly pathetic. A failed remake of a classic. The acting is sub-par at best and unlike the first one the children in this one just look so...plain. The 80's version is better; don't waist your time with this one.
