Kings from across the continent of Westeros vie for the Iron Throne. As winter approaches, the cruel young Joffrey sits upon the Throne in King's Landing, counseled by his conniving mother Cersei and his uncle Tyrion, who has been appointed the new Hand of the King. Add a CommentOne of the great TV series , 2nd season is fantastic. Sex violence and intrigue .
A T and A series where every lead actress has to get naked or lose their job.
Like "Lord of the Rings" on steroids !!
Like "Lord of the Rings" on steroids !!
Great series.
Well worth the long wait.
I agree that its best to watch it on DVD.
If possible, see several episodes in a row at one time,
... its like living in another world !!
DARN ! ... now I have to wait for Season 3.
Standouts: Peter Dinklage and the locations & costumes; as for the rest: you're sure to find some one you like, for if you don't like a scene or character, wait five minutes, and along comes a new one. I like the way Martin often uses the women to challenge or subvert the men's self-images.
A becoming sequel to Season I, re-affirming the series as one of the best in the fantasy genre for an adult only audience.
:/
Peter Dinkage is excellent as tryion an underestimated character who should be king ( see I Claudius for example. the battle of black water was epic (episode2.9) with horriffic battle scences
I'm really enjoying this. Peter Dinklage as Tyrion (the only decent) Lannister is among my favorite characters in the series. (He made quite an impression on me when I first saw him in "The Station Agent"; he's an excellent actor.) Maisie Willliams as the young, headstrong Arya Stark is another favorite of mine. King Joffrey and Queen mother Cersei are NASTY!!! Jeez! I'm sure they'll get what they deserve. Quite a handsome cast altogether. I never know what to expect with George R. R. Martin's clever writing, but I'm champing at the bit for the third season of this medieval/fantasy. FIVE STARS.
And, it ends with another zombie apocalypse. How original.
READ the BOOKS!
