Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare introduces a future where technology is heavily favoured to fight wars. The newest addition of the "exo-suit" allows players to perform actions such as sky jumping and dashing which have not been implemented to previous Call of Duty games. The story revolves around Jack Mitchell, who is given orders to repel a North Korean invasion. Will Irons, one of Mitchell's friends, is killed in action after attempting to save Mitchell but in the process, Mitchell's arm is severed. Jonathan Irons, father of Will Irons, creates a prosthetic arm for Mitchell to aid in the loss of his severed arm. After completing the campaign, I saw how great this Call of Duty game was. I believe that this game is outstanding because the implementation of new mechanics and using a popular figure such as Kevin Spacey to play Jonathan Irons makes this game so interesting and fun to play. This game is definitely one of the best Call of Duty games that I have played and fans of the Call of Duty series and first-person shooters should definitely try this game out. Rating: 5/5

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is a refreshing game in the series, as it introduces creative gameplay options to casual and competitive players. The franchise has taken a lot of criticism for their past games because the games weren’t worth the price being payed. However in this game, it’s safe to say that most players have been introduced to a gameplay feature that they wouldn’t typically expect in Call of Duty game. The title comes from the fact that the entire game is set in the future and there are brand new technological advancements being made for players to use. Starting with the campaign, I noticed a few things that were both good and bad. The actual plot of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare isn’t as great as I had hoped it would be, however these games aren’t really made for their campaigns. The game starts in the year 2054 where wars are ongoing, and technology has improved. Players will follow the story of Jack Mitchell who loses his arm and is almost dismissed from the military entirely. He is accepted into a private military group who are hired by countries for their technological advancements and troops. You will fight against terrorists using Exo Suits which are also brought into the multiplayer aspect of the game. They basically increase the physical capabilities of soldiers and grant them new abilities. Although the storyline could have been written better, the actual gameplay during the campaign isn’t as repetitive as I thought it would be. Usually players have to shoot a certain number of enemies and progress through the mission and that remains true in this game as well. However, there are different vehicles and enemies you have to fight now which are combined with brand new Exo Suit abilities that are introduced throughout the game. Now the multiplayer part of the game, which is what most players look forward to when purchasing these games. This is the best part of the game in my opinion because it feels so fresh and new. You can now use your Exo Suit to change the way you enter and battle on the maps (which I think are extremely well designed for these new features). You can dash around the map and attack your enemies from the air, or boost around in a head-to-head fight. It makes the entire game feel much more lively and full of action, which is something that has been missing from previous games. The title comes from the fact that the entire game is set in the future and there are brand new technological advancements being made for players to use. I would recommend this game to anyone who enjoys fast paced first person shooters because I feel this game has brought a whole new level of gameplay to the franchise, and is a step in the right direction.
