The Life She Wants is a standalone novel. Emma returns home after her husband commits suicide (due to his own financial ruin) to start her life over again. Gone is the lavish lifestyle she is used so she must find a new job, but her husband's reputation gets in the way. She must turn to her childhood best friend, Riley who betrayed her years ago. Can Riley and Emma mend their once tight relationship and let go of past hurts? And will Emma's past come to haunt her new home?

This was a cute contemporary romance but I just couldn't totally get into the story. For me, there wasn't enough of a story. I think I enjoyed it more on audio which kept me to the end.

Eminently readable with all the usual variety of characters in a Robyn Carr story.

Not one of her best books but still entertaining. The characters at the beginning are alittle weak but they blossom I n the third chapter.
