Yumza. So many scrumptious, taste-like-chicken Trolls to chomp on.
Should you expect "cupcakes and rainbows" or mud and thunderstorms?
You'll have to watch and see.

Ok movie, the kids will love it. I really liked the songs and music however.

The music was divine which I give plenty of thanks to Justin Timberlake as he was the music producer (he's always known how to create catchy dittys). And even though I wasn't a Troll fan as a kid, this movie could make you become one.

After the Bergens invade Troll Village, Princess Poppy (Anna Kendrick), the happiest Troll, and the overly-cautious Branch (Justin Timberlake) set off on a journey to rescue her friends from being eaten.

The premise is an interesting new take on the Trolls franchise, telling the story of the Bergens who eat the Trolls as their only way to obtain happiness, however fleeting. The eating of the trolls means everything to the Bergens.

To be perfectly frank: the Bergens are the most relatable part of this movie, while the trolls themselves don't learn anything and are "perfect" all the way through.

While the movie does a good job of adding in quirky characters to keep the audience interested, it ends the story with a "Branch needed to change, but no one else in Troll Village needs to" note. Considering the haphazard way the trolls (and Poppy) operate, the ending makes watching the movie feel useless and irritating. Poppy learns nothing substantial despite the build up to character development, and Branch's deep seeded issues concerning the death of his mother and his part in it is swept under the rug. To be honest, the movie is really just a waste of time as it accomplishes nothing.

I gave it more than 1 star because True Colours and Can't Stop This Feeling were entertaining songs; however, I'd suggest just watching or listening to them through other media, instead of sitting through the whole movie.

The visuals are charming, and the animation is fun, but the story didn't quite meet the bar Dreamworks has set for itself in the past.

Fantastic music all the way through this movie - it can get adults and kids alike dancing. Some parts could definitely be scary for younger ones.

As a child I would have been insulted by the stupidity of this movie. As an adult I was appalled.

This fantasy/adventure cartoon film is about a Troll Village that is being invaded and under attack. Together, the trolls must join together on an epic journey to defeat the Bergens and save their town. This movie is definitely directed towards smaller children, with its very colourful imagery and light hearted jokes that will captivate the attention of any four to eight year old. Personally, I wouldn’t recommend this movie if you were any older because it doesn’t have much to offer for an older audience. I would rate this movie 3/5 stars and recommend it to families on their movie night in.

Trolls was a movie that, like its bright and bubby characters, brought a sense of happiness into my cinematic experience! The songs were fun and made you want to groove along, the characters lacked nothing in terms of animation and colour, and the plotline was decent enough. I thought that it was not that much of a different story, and some parts got a bit confusing. All in all, there were some nice messages in the story relating to being different, the power of unity and more. The song choice was really great, Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake did a good job of adding more fun to the songs. Rating 3/5

Frightening or Intense Scenes: Although everything is quite cartoonish the film's villains do seek to capture and eat the titular Trolls, kind of frightening for smaller kids.

Other: Mild rude humor.

Branch: What's your plan?

Poppy: I just told you: Rescue everyone and make it home safely.

Branch: Okay- That's not a plan, that's a wish list.
