Though it is a little long, this is exactly what I wanted out of a Star Wars movie. While I enjoyed the Finn and Rose caper storyline, and the Poe learning what leadership actually looks like storyline it was the Jedi story I was here for and the Jedi story that delivered on the promise of first finding a little green weirdo in a swamp back in The Empire Strikes Back.

I loved this movie's depiction of the difference between heroism and leadership. The visuals were excellent (the red minerals beneath the white dust in the final chunk of the movie was an inspired choice), the action motivated and well-choreographed, and most importantly, the turnabouts on what you think a Star Wars movie is were nigh-perfect.

Sheer torture to watch. Nothing but non-stop explosions and shooting. No story line. This was WORSE than a total waste of time.

I just don't know how in the world did this movie make so much money at the movie box office. This movie was so boring and slow movie. I just don't get movie why so much love for this crap?

This movie deserves a five star if your a new Star Wars fan and have no idea about the original six or your just simply watching it for the sake of watching it. It's no higher than a two if your a real Star Wars fan and have watched all, now eight of these films. It has taken so many little pieces from different original six movies that Disney could have just used those pieces for their movie instead of this piece of junk! Now with two very bad movies by Disney, someone should tell them to just shut this operation down before they destroy the Star Wars legacy altogether!!!!

I'm not even going to give this movie a full star. I now understand why George Lucas was ashamed of the new star wars series. Disney has literally ruined one of the best movies in franchise history. Shame on them!

The worst star wars movie. Ever. Made for 9 year olds by 9 year olds. It would take a 500 page essay to point out everything wrong with this movie.

Ah, finally an episode worthy of the original six.

I was fourteen when I first saw the original Star Wars. Decades later, this current chapter is both disappointing and invigorating. The tension between Rey and Kylo is dynamic. Leia as CGI character offers various directions. But I'm not excited by this rendering. Is this really the end of Luke?

Thoroughly surprising and beautifully shot. Every time you expect the movie to go one way, it goes the other, upping the stakes and breathing new life into a 40-year-old franchise. It would have been the easiest thing in the world to make a by-the-numbers Star Wars adventure, but The Last Jedi manages to deepen the mystery of the Force, while pushing our heroes to a desperate state (it is the second act of three, after all), and yet ends on a note of optimism.

(And for this child of the 1970s, it is a pure joy to see Luke Skywalker in action again -- something I never in a million years would have thought would happen!)
