Laura is a single mother, who has a constant need to put rescue animals before her. When her estranged, criminally-minded father Jack is kicked out of his retirement home, Laura agrees to drive him to live with her sister. Along for the ride is her bright but troubled son Henry, and an assortment of animal charity cases. Jack convinces Henry to help him sell off his copious supply of marijuana at every stop of their journey, resulting in unexpected reunions with old friends and family.

Not a great movie, but OK. Christopher Plummer is always fun to watch and elevates this script well beyond what it would be with a different actor.

I thought that this was a Family movie! It seems to be presented as such on the beautiful cover...animals, kids, grandparents, etc.. I learned later, it is 'R' rated, due to the explicit material, language, sex scenes (not graphic), drugs, etc..

The Extra section was good, explaining that this movie is based on the True life story of the writer/director!

I have to say that I was disappointed in the quality of the movie/production! Somehow, the story didn't translate well on the screen! The frequency of the swearing was overwhelming, also! There is, also, shock of the drug selling in the/by the family! Overall, the acting felt uneven and missing something! Perhaps, the Director should not have used the comedy actors for these roles?

I really think this movie needs to be rewritten and redone! Maybe, also, made longer to give justice to the story! Less swearing, and more dramatic moments!
On the plus side, this story may encourage discussion on family, estrangement, boundaries, etc, which is good!
Although, the well-known actors were great to see, the show quality itself was not that good, and disappointing!

To much bad language for me and a bit boring, I fast forward through much of it. Even the child's mouth was bad.

Thoroughly enjoyed this film. I'm a big fan of watching the "special features" which gives a lot of insight into the movie, which, by the way was lived by the writer/director.

Was so looking forward to this movie - however - the best was in the preview. Beautiful scenery -think some of it was filmed on Whidbey Island.

Disappointing as I have admired Christopher Plummer for years and respect Vera Farmiga as an actress. Sorry, formulaic happy ending film. Put a boundary between yourself and this film Kristi & Abby Tabby

Lovely cast but----the older I get, the more I don't think dysfunction is funny.
