When a wealthy California family's son is kidnapped, it ignites a firestorm of suspicion and rage in idyllic 1933 San Jose, California. As the local sheriff rounds up some suspects on flimsy evidence, a young, hard-nosed, and principled reporter investigates the case and takes on the powers-that-be to prevent the lynching of two innocent men. Based on the true story of the last lynch mob in California, this riveting suspenseful film stars Pete Postlethwaite (Inception, The Town), Diana Scarwid (Mommie Dearest, What Lies Beneath), and Gabriel Mann (TV's Revenge, The Bourne Series).

Very informative & insightful film on how the powers of the day entice the gullible public for mob justice, in the name of law & order.

Sadly, In the valley of heart's delight, justice is as expendable as injustice.
