"In this devastating story, Bree Tanner--a character introduced in Eclipse--and the newborn vampire army prepare to close in on Bella Swan and the Cullens, following their encounter to its unforgettable conclusion." --From the publisher.
"Bree Tanner can barely remember life before she had uncannily powerful senses, superhuman reflexes, and unstoppable physical strength. Life before she had a relentless thirst for blood... life before she became a vampire. All Bree knows is that living with her fellow newborns has few certainties and even fewer rules: watch your back, don't draw attention to yourself, and above all, make it home by sunrise or die. What she doesn't know: her time as an immortal is quickly running out. Then Bree finds an unexpected friend in Diego, a newborn just as curious as Bree about their mysterious creator, whom they know only as her. As they come to realize that the newborns are pawns in a game larger than anything they could have imagined, Bree and Diego must choose sides and decide whom to trust. But when everything you know about vampires is based on a lie, how do you find the truth?" --Jacket.

Once again, Stephenie Meyer delivers an THRILLING novella based on her amazing Twilight Saga series, another great book for any Twilight fan.
I won't go much into detail on this book, but all I can say is that it is a fabulous addition to the Twilight Saga. From the first chapter, and until the end it was an intriguing story. Stephanie Meyer really is a wonderful author. 'The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner' was very adventurous and interesting, and I loved it. Three cheers for Stephanie Meyer!

The novella started out good with descriptions of the new born vampires' lives, but if you have read Eclipse you know how will end for Bree. The rest of the book didn't really meet expectations or at least the ones I had. The battle was almost completely skimmed over and some things mentioned in it didn't seem to move the plot forward.

I have to admit, I chewed through this as ravenously as I did the Twilight quartet and only wished it lasted longer. The same world, seen from a very different angle--how it feels to be a newborn vampire--what it is to be a pawn in a war like that. A must-read for Stephenie Meyer fans.

One of the things I enjoyed about this book was the descriptions of the fledgling lifestyle. The scene at the house was pretty cool too. I don't remember anything about Bree or the guy she liked, and I don't recall feeling much sympathy for her passing. I was disappointed that Meyer failed to fully describe the battle. Meyer has admitted that she's a total wuss when it comes to that sort of thing, but come on, that's one of the things that's interesting about werewolves and vampires - they're strong and violent. I felt like I was missing out on it because of her inability to suck it up. While I don't believe that Bree was worth writing about, I'm glad that the money for this book went to a good cause - even if it wasn't that great.

I enjoyed the Twilight series, but I couldn't get through this book.

For any Twilight fanatic (like me) this is a must-read. It provides a perfectly written insight onto how the lives of the newborn army of vampires formed by Victoria really was. If you were like me and you hated Victoria and her newborn army throughout Eclipse, then this novella will give you a sense of what was really happening behind-the-scenes. In comparison, you will start to love each of the newborns and will feel sorry for their short lived lives.
