Mother Angelica gives a deep, but understandable insight into one's suffering, even as difficult it may be at the time, and thus can be redemptive and part of a loving Father's Plan. My favorite chapters were His Silence Presence (how God is in everything of our lives, in the quiet of the morning and evening, if we but slow down and notice), and Jesus Needs Me. She talks about how we tend to stay so busy as to miss the opportunity to see Jesus in action in our lives through the most mundane experiences. For example, He may be in our neighbor who may need something from us, or who is there for us when we need a friend, a clerk at the store who needs a smile, a sick relative who needs encouragement, a struggling father who needs a helping hand. She also writes about spiritual dryness and why God permits it, and explains the levels of prayer that can result. The book is easy to read and beneficial to any Christian or child of God.
