I was crazy about this series when I was a kid. I always enjoy a reread of any one of the Redwall books. Lines from certain characters make me laugh out loud, and I appreciate when that happens in a book. The descriptions of feasts and foods, the lyrical writing, memorable characters and scenes -- "Mossflower" is one of the best Redwall novels!

Good book with a lot of different types of characters. The plot was developed and an all-around good book.

* This book features Gonff the Mousethief, a character that Jacques based on himself.

* Once again Jacques delights us with mouthwatering descriptions of food! His books always make me hungry. :)

* The book has a good balance between male and female characters, so that boys and girls alike can see themselves reflected in the story.

Mossflower was a nice break from the repetition of Redwall, Mattimeo, and most of the other books when they are just defending Redwall Abbey.
