Running On Empty is an alright book, even though I found the protagonist to be quite unrelatable and a little dislikable for the book’s majority. I do like though, how it focuses on how someone would react if a dream they had been working toward for years slipped through their fingers at the last possible moment, and what – usually rash – decisions they would make to try and fix that sudden setback. It also focuses on how those setbacks and decisions would affect those around them, like family, friends, and teachers. The main character comes off as a tormenter to nearly everyone for the most part though, which is why I cannot give this book more than a 3.5 out of 5.
