A flowing easy to read suspense where Thorne, now back in uniform after bucking authority too much in the last novel is still trying to do it himself with some help from a few of his police friends. But his usual obsession and compulsion to solve the case jeopardizes himself, his friends and as usual totally upsets his superiors. Exactly what you expect from Thorne. It is an exciting and overall a good solid twisting plot as more murders keep showing up. Perhaps not the best Thorne saga but well worth reading with the last line as a possible foreboding.
