"Exodus" is a timeless classic. I read this book again because of what is currently going on Poland. Poland is claiming they were innocents in the holocaust. That is very much not true. Leon Uris takes some liberties with his story, but the facts he uses as background are historical facts. Jewish people were treated horribly for centuries. The holocaust was the epitome, but it was not the end. What Jewish people did to create Israel was truly amazing, and they did despite very strong resistance from their British overseers. The Brits felt that continued access to Arab oil was more important than humanity. I'm of Polish and Irish descent, and I believe everyone should read this book.
