The action, suspense, drama, that was built up in Specter Of The Past was certainly here, but it was not what I was expecting it to be like. I found Vision Of The Future oddly depressing, and that could be because I thought it was going to be completely different than how it actually ended or maybe because this marked the end to a great cycle of books. Either one of those. Vision Of The future really does end the Bantam Spectra era with basically the characters it started with and it evens hints as to what the next nineteen books are going to be about. I think that Vision of The Future, and maybe The Hand Of Thrawn Duology in general, tries to get across to readers that while we should never forget the past, we can't keep dwelling on it because the future holds some of the greatest joys, fears, trials, and excitements, that we have yet to experience.
