I knew I would hate this book and despite this fact I gave it a try simply because Bill Clinton is the author. Supposedly James Patterson is the "co-author". I doubt he has written anything in at least 5 years, but his name is a…Read moreRead more of this comment

I thoroughly enjoyed the book. Obviously written by Patterson and perhaps Clinton gave some insight on the Whitehouse protocols. Really made me think about the possibility of nationwide shutdown through the internet. Will recommend for…Read moreRead more of this comment
The reason for the zero stars - what an awful book to read. I read maybe 30 pages and then felt I should burn it!. James Patterson should have let President Clinton do his own stuff on this book. Good grief.

The plot is too contrived and the President is too alone-trusting no one and unable to delegate even a tiny bit to subordinates. Lonely at the top way overdone and the sermon at the end was likely the only part written by the ex-President

This book started slow and finished preachy. I have always ejoyed Patterson in the past, even though I don't like his politics. Patterson always has a liberal bent; but this book is full of propaganda, especially the end. In short this…Read moreRead more of this comment

This is my first Patterson book so I have nothing to compare it to. Because he co-authored it with Bill Clinton it is also difficult to judge. It is obvious former President Clinton contributed several elements only a president would know…Read moreRead more of this comment

I had a hard time getting into this book but halfway through I wanted to know how it ended. It is quite relevant to what could happen today and how crippled we would be it there was a cyber attack. The speech at the end of the book given…Read moreRead more of this comment

Meh... I was hoping for better. It was an okay read. All the politics and government stuff gets a little dull. A hero president who needs to save the world, but he's got a trader in his cabinet.
Who can he trust. Think 24, designated…Read moreRead more of this comment
The entire novel is set into action predicated on an improbable and ludicrous premise that an idiotic President will go to extraordinary lengths to avoid Secret Service protection. Go along for the ride if you want (I did) but it is pure…Read moreRead more of this comment

Fast paced, exciting and dramatic, but reads like a season of 24: I kept expecting Jack Bauer to put in an appearance. Sometimes heavy on the computer or IT mumbo jumbo. The novel has Patterson's writing flavor, but wonder who approached…Read moreRead more of this comment

It was difficult to get into but about midway through it gets so interesting that I found it hard to put down. Frightening to think that this sort of thing could actually happen. It many ways it touches on what is happening in our…Read moreRead more of this comment

This book was absorbing and fascinating. If you like books with interesting plots, you will like this book; there are many twists and turns. Just when you think you have figured something out, you find out you are wrong.

I am a fan of Mr Clinton's politics. This book is a convoluted and highly imporbable tale. Mr Clinton never met a sentence that he couldn't turn into a paragraph. I did not finish this book, something I rarely do.
